Many times people have the courage to do something daring. However, most of those same people are waiting for someone/something to start it off. Many people do not know what the outcome will be, so they will wait for the one daring person to start it off. People generally think that the person who steps out in front, and is willing to risk it all, and go out first are fearless. However, they are normal people who have just as much fear as you and i; they just have found a way to not let this fear control them and make the decisions for them. We often, every day even, have the opportunity to let fear control us, or we can take control of fear. There have been different people throughout history who have tried to find ways to eliminate fear.
A popular answer is "face your fear". "Stand up in the face of it all, whatever you are most afraid of, and do not back down."
-perfect love cast out all fear 1 John 4:18[17,19]-
There once was a little boy whose job was watching his dad’s sheep. (True story by the way) His brothers were off fighting a war, but he could not go. He was the lowliest of all his family. He was just an average kid. One day, his father sent him to go give food to his brothers, and to see how the war was going. Once the boy got to the camp where his brothers were, he heard the report that there was a challenge put out...That one man from the Israelite army (the boy's(whose name was David) country), and the best warrior of the Philistines (whose name was Goliath) would have a 1 on 1 fight to decide this battle. 40 days Goliath would come out, ready to fight, challenging Israel-cursing their God, and no one would come fight him. Goliath was over 9 ft tall, and was trained in fighting since he was a child. Once David had heard this, and that no one in all the army of Israel would accept the challenge, he chose to fight. David was an average kid, and was NO comparison to Goliath. It was simply a no-brainer that David would die! David clearly had to have the thought of fear go through his mind, but he did not let that stop him. His love for His country-and more importantly, His love for GOD, had him not fear-but TRUST in GOD. Goliath had openly cursed David's GOD for 40 days straight. At the next opportunity, David accepted the challenge and by the strength of The LORD, had killed Goliath.
You can read even more details of the story in The Bible in 1 Samuel chapter 17. It's an interesting story-the whole life a David is pretty cool.
He did not give into fear, rather was driven by love to overcome the opposition and deliver his people, even though fear was Very clear and present.
(The 1 thing i cannot escape is love)
