Faith for the "small stuff"

This is just a thought that i've had a couple of times.

Why is it that sometimes as CHRISTians we have unbelievable faith, enough to move mountains, but not for the "small stuff"?

¹⁸In the morning, as Jesus was returning to Jerusalem, he was hungry, ¹⁹and he noticed a fig tree beside the road. He went over to see if there were any figs on it, but there were only leaves. Then he said to it, "May you never bear fruit again!" And immediately the fig tree withered up.

²⁰The disciples were amazed when they saw this and asked, "How did the fig tree wither so quickly?"

²¹Then Jesus told them, "I assure you, if you have faith and don't doubt, you can do things like this and much more. You can even say to this mountain, `May God lift you up and throw you into the sea,' and it will happen. ²²If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." Matthew 21:18-21

you see, for the big things in our life we have the faith to overcome it, but the small things in life sometimes seem hard to overcome. why is this?

OUR PRIDE

When we have stuff in our life that is too big for us to accomplish it's easy to give it to GOD, but when it is a smaller thing we will sometimes get the thought in our head that we can handle it all by ourselves. Have you ever tried to handle a small situation by yourself? Yeah, sure you've probably made it out ok, but only by the grace of God which is the only thing to get us through anything.

Is it safe to say that you've tried to handle a "small situation" by yourself and it ended up spiraling out of control until you've had to give it all to God, which if you would have done this in the first place you would have been alright.

If you take what ever it is in your life, good or bad, and be humble and give it to God then it's going to be better off. It may not be the easiest, but it will end up better and going toward God's glory (which as CHRISTians, we should be looking for all the time anyway [GOD's glory] ).
