Day 2 of Internship!

So, this is the second day of the Internship here in Florida (September 2). Today i read Genesis 15-28.
Something that is happening often in these few chapters are wells being built. That is really standing out to me. Abraham built wells for water, and now Isaac is too! Something that is really sticking out to me is in Genesis 26:23-25. This is after Esau gave up his birthright to his brother Jacob for some stew, bread, and something to drink. Apparently, after Abraham had died, some Philistines put dirt in Abraham's wells, and dried them up! Now Isaac is moving again, and is camping in a place called the Valley of Gerer, and settles there. During this time, (Gen. 26:18) "Isaac reopened the wells that had been dug in the time of his father Abraham, which the Philistines had stopped up after Abraham died, and he gave them the same names his father had given them." Isaac was going through and restoring what was once a beautiful and living thing! A well that once tapped into something that gave life, was stopped up, and no longer was able to get into the thing that was needed to produce life (water)! and Isaac is coming through and restoring all of them! and redeeming them to their original place (he's giving them the same names his father gave them!). COMPLETE RESTORATION! GOD is doing THAT in me!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE GOD!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!! But wait! There's more!!! hahahaha!

Isaac had also had 3 wells dug in the same place! The first 2 wells that were dug, other herdsmen had argued with Isaac's herdsman, claiming that the water there was theirs (not Isaac's/his herdsmen's)! These 2 wells were named Esek (dispute) and Sitnah (opposition), just for your knowledge. I'm sure there is great importance in there, but that's not quite the focus i've been given for the current moment-but please, go study it on your own!!! That'd be fun!!! -Anyway- the third well, Rehoboth (room), was dug and there was no dispute! The BIBLE says in v. 22 that "He moved on from there and dug another well..." After they had buil the 3rd well, Isaac said (v. 22), "Now the LORD has given us room and we will flourish in the land." cool, right? Yea!..but there's more!!!

Gen. 26:23 "from there he went up to Beersheba." Beersheba was a place a few chapters back (chapter 21) where Abraham was. And back then, Abraham had a well there-and a guy named Abimelech had servents. And his servants seized a well of Abraham's! And Abimelech did not know of this. Abraham brought it to Abimelech's attention. And Abraham and Abimelech were going to make a treaty, not actually about the well, but about another issue, which is why Abraham and Abimelech were meeting in the first place. When they were making their treaty, Abraham set aside seven ewe lambs. Abimelech asked what this was for, and Abraham said (Gen 21:30), "Accept these seven lambs from my hand as a witness that i dug this well." (v. 31)"So that plac was called Beersheba (well of seven/well of the oath) because the two men swore an oath there." After this Abimelech left, and Abraham planted a tamarisk tree, and stayed (lived) there for a long time. Fast foward now...

Genesis 26:24-25 "That night the LORD appeared to him and said, 'I am the GOD of your father Abraham. Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bless you and will increase the number of your descendants for the sake of MY servant Abraham'
Isaac built an altar there and called on the name of the LORD. There he pitched his tent, and there his servants dug a well."
This is not the first time GOD had said this! HE said it repeatedly to his father, Abraham, and HE has told it to Isaac too! So, GOD is restating HIS promise. When GOD retold Isaac HIS promise, Isaac -built an altar. -pitched his tent. and - dug a well!
He built an altar and recognized GOD!
Set his house there!
He set up yet another place to get into the life giving substance!

I feel like i need to do that! GOD has been restating HIS promises to me...and i need to do what Isaac did! do you?

*In college, someone once calle me "84" because when GOD gave me something, i would read like the whole chapter before, of, and after what i was shown, and used all of that to describe what i was talking about-so, that's kind of why all of the other stuff-but that stuff does serve a purpose too-and to this as well. So, enjoy!
